Lucid Flying Break Through

I have had many experiences of flying. Often the occur when I have learned something new about me spiritually.  However, in my dreams I would not let anyone see me flying because if someone saw me and thought something negative I would lose my power to fly and come down to earth.

Many years ago I went to the Kabbalah Center in Los Angeles and told them that I wanted to learn how to levitate. They said “We can teach you.”  I took every possible course in a 2 year period and became an advanced student. I went back to them and said, “Okay, now teach me to levitate.” They said, “We can’t because we don’t want you to exploit Kabbalah.” I promised I would only levitate in the privacy of my home home.” They said, “No.” I left the Kabbalah Center.

I have been studying and advancing on my own and am working on a Science (which is a big spiritual break through).  A week ago I had a dream that I was flying and in my dream I was moving about 3 feet off of the ground and I saw some people ahead and thought, “I don’t care what they think. This is what I do.” And I flew past them now concerned about what they were thinking. I then came to a big building and thought, “Wow, I want to fly high above it.” I knew that there was a crowd of people on the other side and I was okay with it because I knew that I could now explain how the flying was done. I knew that I would tell people that the air around is is composed of atoms and molecules like everything else and that by focusing on what the air was comprised of I was therefore allowing it to be able to be manipulated with my hands, by pushing down. {Because in my studies of quantum physics, I have learned that the atoms and molecule around us appear when we look for them.}  This was a great through lucid flying dream for me. It also corresponds to the work that I am creating now. I now have enough information to let people know how things can occur.

I am very excited about your project and would like to support you in any way I can.

Best wishes,

Dottie Randazzo

Thank you so much for sharing, Dottie! Your story of how you had a flying break though with lucid dreaming was quite interesting. I think there is a lot we all can learn from your tale regarding fears in our dreams as well as other people telling us what we can and can’t do.

my first one… (SUBMISSION)

Hello

I would like to share my first lucid dream i had way back in 2001.

I woke in the morning, stayed up for about 15 minutes and went back to sleep.

In my dream, I was walking down an avenue in the capital of my country with someone unidentified. There was a big demonstration going on with firemen everywhere, some people i know faced up before me, saying hello.

I then realized that the situation displayed before me (the avenue, a big manifestation, some faces of known people) were all experiences of the week before, situations i encountered, people i met.

The person with me then told me, see this is not real, these are just memories.

Having read Castaneda’s books in the years before, i thought, what about focussing on my hands (his pattern to induce lucid dreaming), and .. bang .. i was looking at my hands..

As a reaction i was panicking and i found myself in absolute whiteness with a strong heartbeat unable to wake up… until i forced myself to “stay up” in bed..

Claude

Thank you so much, Claude, for submitting your first lucid dream. Sometimes becoming lucid is as simple as looking at your hands. And then when it happens, everything clicks together. Experiencing lucidity for the first time can be really intense, but it’s important to remain calm. It’s the first step in being able to truly explore your dreams.

A Guest on the Nightmare Express (Submission)

First of all, I must let you know that I have no knowledge of lucid dreaming.  Never heard of it before (until Inception).  So here is my dream:

It begins with me shoveling coal.  I am the sole engineer on a black steam engine train, towing a coal car and five flatbed cars.  The train is apparently being driven through the dessert, sometime in the morning after the sun has rissen, and it is not on any tracks.  It is also moving at an impossible speed for a steam engine.  Without looking behind me, I grab the second shovel and point it, handle first, behind me.  I do not know how, but my dream-self knew that there was someone else in my dream.  As I held the shovel out towards my guest, I turn my head to look.  It was a girl in a white, slim full-length dress. She had long blackish hair.  I then said to her, ‘If you’re gonna be a passenger, I’m gonna need ya to work your passage.’  She then looked at the shovel, then teh coal car behind her, and then down at her dress.  She then reluctantly took the shovel in her hands and filled it with coal; she struggled with the weight as she brought it towards the furnace door.  Some time passes, and I notice that her dress remains sparkling clean and wrinkle free.  I then close the furnace door for a final time and bury my shovel into the coal—the girl doing the same.  I turn to her and offer to give her the tour to my train.  Without any transition, we are suddenly on the first flat bed car.  On it, is a very tiny wooden chest—it could have fit in the palm of her hand.  I said, ‘Inside are dreams that boarder on being nightmares—they are very weak ones.’  Then we are on the second car.  This chest is slightly larger and is tied to the cart by a single thin piece of rope.  ‘This one holds my nightmares of falling—they always wake me up.  That’s why it is tied down.’  We are then standing on the third car.  The wooden chest on this one is also bound by two iron bars—a wood and iron chest (same as used by pirates).  I cannot remember what I said here.  The fourth car— the fourth chest is fully iron, and is also bound to the cart, but by two steel chains with a large padlock.  The chest is roughly chest high.  ‘This chest contains my fears of loosing the people I love.’  (Throughout the entire experience, i never once look back at my guest).  We arrive at the final flatbed car and the final chest.  This final chest does not resemble a chest at all.  More like a large steel safe with three combination locks and a large wheel locking mechanism on the front.  That is all you can see of the safe—the rest of the safe is bound by large, thick chains and a number of padlocks.  The safe is then chained to the car by four large chains—the kind attached to large ships’ anchors (each link weighing more than a man).  I say to her with a sad sigh, ‘This one, this one holds my darker self—the self no one has ever seen—will never see…. but I think it is time…’  I then look back towards my guest—and she is gone. I am alone on my speeding train with my nightmares and my dark self.  And then I wake up in the real world.

Thank you so much Doug for submitting your dream! It is a wonderful account of how dreams can really shine a light on to our inner selves. I love how your dream has such an introspective look on the natures of dreams, nightmares and the darker side of our waking lives.

If dreams can be considered the visual representation of our inner psyche, what does that mean when we become conscious in dreams? What does it mean when we can alter our dreams?

typographie:

For her final project at the University of Applied Sciences in Augsburg, Germany, Maria Fischer created Traumgedanken.

The book “Traumgedanken” (“Thoughts on dreams”) contains a collection of literary, philosophical, psychological and scientifical texts which provide an insight into different dream theories.
To ease the access to the elusive topic, the book is designed as a model of a dream about dreaming. Analogue to a dream, where pieces of reality are assembled to build a story, it brings different text excerpts together. They are connected by threads which tie in with certain key words. The threads visualise the confusion and fragileness of dreams.

See us on the Home Page of PSFK!
Here we are on the #4 marketing blog in the world, PSFK! That’s right, we made the front page but don’t worry, we won’t let it go to our heads. Check out the article they wrote about us, which boldly states, “the book could have profound impacts for creative individuals…the Oneironautics guide could push boundaries to provide better clarity on everyday thought behavior and idea development.”
Okay, maybe this is inflating our ego just a little bit…
